Equality Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABABCC DEFEGG HIHJCC KLKLMM NOOOPP QRQRSS TUTUVV WXWXYYThe Elders of the Tribe were grouped | A |
And squatted in the Council Cave | B |
They seemed to be extremely pooped | A |
And some were grim but all were grave | B |
The subject of their big To do | C |
Was axe man Chow the son of Choo | C |
- | |
Then up spoke Tribal Wiseman Waw | D |
Brothers today I talk to grieve | E |
As an upholder of the Law | F |
You know how deeply we believe | E |
In Liberty Fraternity | G |
And likewise Equality | G |
- | |
A chipper of the flint am I | H |
I make the weapons that you use | I |
And though to hunt I never try | H |
To bow to hunters I refuse | J |
But stalwart Chow the son of Choo | C |
Is equal to us any two | C |
- | |
He is the warrior supreme | K |
The Super caveman one might say | L |
The pride of youth the maiden's dream | K |
And in the chase the first to slay | L |
Where we are stunted he is tall | M |
In short a menace to us all | M |
- | |
He struts with throwing stone and spear | N |
And is he not the first to wear | O |
Around his waist with bully leer | O |
The pelt of wolf and baby bear | O |
Admitting that he made the kill | P |
Why should he so exploit his skill | P |
- | |
Comrades grave counsel we must take | Q |
And as he struts with jest and jibe | R |
Let us act swiftly lest he make | Q |
Himself Dictator of our Tribe | R |
The Gods have built him on their plan | S |
Let us reduce him to a man | S |
- | |
And so they seized him in the night | T |
And on the sacrificial stone | U |
The axe men of the Tribe did smite | T |
Until one limb he ceased to own | U |
There They had equalized the odds | V |
Foiling unfairness of the Gods | V |
- | |
So Chow has lost his throwing arm | W |
And goes around like every one | X |
No longer does he threaten harm | W |
And tribal justice has been done | X |
For men are equal let us seek | Y |
To grade the Strong down to the weak | Y |
