Detachment Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEFGHGH IJIJKHKH LBLBMFMF

As I go forth from fair to martA
With racket ringingB
Who would divine that in my heartA
Mad larks are singingB
As I sweet sympathy expressC
Lest I should pain themD
The money mongers cannot guessC
How I disdain themD
-
As I sit at some silly teaE
And flirt and flatterF
How I abhor societyE
And female chatterF
As I with wonderment surveyG
Their peacock dressesH
My mind is wafted far awayG
To wildernessesH
-
As I sit in some raucous pubI
Taboo to womenJ
And treat myself to greasy grubI
I feel quite humanJ
Yet there I dream despite the dinK
Of God's green spacesH
And sweetly dwell the peace withinK
Of sylvan gracesH
-
And so I wear my daily maskL
Of pleasant seemingB
And nobody takes me to taskL
For distant dreamingB
A happy hypocrite am IM
Of ambiance innerF
Who smiling make the same replyM
To saint and sinnerF
