Cows Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAAABA CCDAAD EEFDDF GGDHHD

I love to watch my seven cowsA
In meads of buttercups abrowseA
With guilded kneesA
But even more I love to seeA
Them chew the cud so tranquillyB
In twilight easeA
-
Each is the image of contentC
From fragrant hours in clover spentC
'Mid leaf and budD
As up and down without a pauseA
Mechanically move their jawsA
To chew the cudD
-
Friend there's a hope for me and youE
Let us resolve to chew and chewE
With molars strongF
The man who learns to masticateD
With patience may control his fateD
His life prolongF
-
In salivation is salvationG
So if some silly little nationG
Should bathe in bloodD
Let's take a lesson from the cowH
And learn in life's long gloaming howH
To chew the cudD
