Belated Conscience Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABACAC DEDEFGFG HGHGCICI

To buy for school a copy bookA
I asked my Dad for two penceB
He gave it with a gentle lookA
Although he had but few penceB
'Twas then I proved myself a crookA
And came a moral cropperC
I bought a penny copy bookA
And blued the other copperC
-
I spent it on a sausage rollD
Gulped down with guilt suggestionE
To the damnation of my soulD
And awful indigestionE
Poor Dad His job was hard to holdF
His mouths to feed were manyG
Were he alive a millionfoldF
I'd pay him for his pennyG
-
Now nigh the grave I think with griefH
Though other sins are manyG
I am a liar and a thiefH
'Cause once I stole a pennyG
Yet be he pious as a friarC
It is my firm believingI
That every man has been a liarC
And most of us done thievingI
