Baby Sitter Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABAB CACACA DADADA EFEFBB

From torrid heat to frigid coldA
I've rovered land and seaB
And now with halting heart I holdA
My grandchild on my kneeB
Yet while I've eighty years all toldA
Of moons she has but threeB
-
She sleeps that fragile miniatureC
Of future maidenhoodA
She will be wonderful I'm sureC
As over her I broodA
She is so innocent so pureC
I know she will be goodA
-
My way I've won from woe to wealD
And hard has been the fightA
Yet in my ingle nook I feelD
A wondrous peace to nightA
And over me serenely stealD
Warm waves of love and lightA
-
What sloppy stuff I hear you sayE
Give us a lusty songF
Alas I'm bent and gnarled and greyE
My life may not be longF
Yet let its crown of glory beB
This child upon me kneeB
