| With abstract terms I can't agree | B |
| And so I've made a little list | A |
| Of words that don't make sense to me | B |
| To fool my reason I refuse | C |
| For honest thinking is my goal | D |
| And that is why I rarely use | E |
| Vague words like Soul | D |

| In terms of matter I am sure | F |
| This world of our can be defined | G |
| And so with theories obscure | F |
| I will not mystify my mind | G |

| Describing alcoholic scenes | I |
| I do not know I must confess | H |
| What Spirit means | I |

| When I survey this cosmic scene | J |
| The term Creator seems absurd | K |
| The Universe has always been | L |
| Creation never has occurred | K |
| But in my Lexicon of Doubt | M |
| It strikes me definitely odd | N |
| One word I never dare to flout | M |
| One syllable the mountains shout | M |
| Three letters that the stars spell out | M |
