The Children Dancing Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABABACACACADADADEB EBEBAFAFAFGHIHIH

Away sad thoughts and teasingA
Perplexities awayB
Let other blood go freezingA
We will be wise and gayB
For here is all heart easingA
An ecstasy at playB
The children dancing dancingA
Light upon happy feetC
Both eye and heart entrancingA
Mingle escape and meetC
Come joyous eyed and advancingA
Or floatingly retreatC
Now slow now swifter treadingA
Their paces timed and trueD
An instant poised then threadingA
A maze of printless clueD
Their motions smoothly weddingA
To melody anewD
They sway in chime and scatterE
In looping circles theyB
Are Music's airy matterE
And their feet move the wayB
The raindrops shine and patterE
On tossing flowers in MayB
As if those flowers were singingA
For joy of the clean airF
As if you saw them springingA
To dance the breeze so fairF
The lissom bodies swingingA
So light the flung back hairF
And through the mind enchantedG
A happy river goesH
By its own young carol hauntedI
And bringing where it flowsH
What all in the world has wantedI
And who in this world knowsH
