Rhyme Scheme: ABCCCBCDDC

When a friend calls to me from the roadA
And slows his horse to a meaning walkB
I don't stand still and look aroundC
On all the hills I haven't hoedC
And shout from where I am What is itC
No not as there is a time to talkB
I thrust my hoe in the mellow groundC
Blade end up and five feet tallD
And plod I go up to the stone wallD
For a friendly visitC
