Cousinly Affection Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDD AAAAAAAAA

Why do you love your Cousin PaullA
For his sweet face his smile and allA
The little tricks that charm us soB
You're not quite old enough to knowB
How cute he is to realizeC
How clever for a child his sizeC
I'm sure you can't appreciateD
The things that make us think him greatD
-
And yet you love your Cousin PaullA
Is it because he's twice as smallA
As you just right for you to maulA
Because he won't fight back or bawlA
Because when he is pushed he'll fallA
And where most kids would howl and squallA
He takes it nor puts in a callA
For mother Am I warm at allA
Is this why you love Cousin PaullA
