The River Speaks! Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDD EEFGHHII JJKKLLMN

Tumbling down the mountain headA
My heart is preserved in my bedA
I only run I cannot walkB
I have the beautiful sky to stalkB
Down the valley through the plainsC
I am waiting for the cloud that rainsC
I am the maiden of the mistD
I go on flowing with a twistD
-
I make the hearts of people pureE
They worship me like gods for sureE
They come to me to find solaceF
And go back with a happy faceG
Some give me garlands of marigoldsH
And some silk clothes with many foldsH
I do love carrying these wondrous giftsI
In my water along the driftsI
-
In the cool night under the moonJ
After the dreariness and heat of the noonJ
I happily flow like silver that glowsK
The night wind soothes me when it blowsK
I go on without stopping for a restL
As that is what I like the bestL
I will keep running as the days go byM
Till my distant end is anighN
