Innocence Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGAHI JKLM NOPQMD

They laughed at one I lovedA
The triangular hill that hungB
Under the Big Forth They saidC
That I was bounded by the whitethorn hedgesD
Of the little farm and did not know the worldE
But I knew that love's doorway to lifeF
Is the same doorway everywhereG
Ashamed of what I lovedA
I flung her from me and called her a ditchH
Although she was smiling at me with violetsI
-
But now I am back in her briary armsJ
The dew of an Indian Summer liesK
On bleached potato stalksL
What age am IM
-
I do not know what age I amN
I am no mortal ageO
I know nothing of womenP
Nothing of citiesQ
I cannot dieM
Unless I walk outside these whitethorn hedgesD
