Rhyme Scheme: ABCD AEFGC HGIJA KLAAIM NGACA OAPMG

Sail from afar of my journey madeA
What could be the sound my ear do hearB
This seems to be that of a glorious celebrationC
Which needs no ear to be put on the wallD
-
Ogiri letiA
The wonderful work of menE
In women at the village squareF
When asked of what celebration it could beG
The Independence and new birth of our nationC
-
In purity of joy my heart celebratesH
The celebration from this long term slaveryG
Not knowing that it's starting of the yoke to be place on usI
The foundation which was laid inJ
While now at close sixty still a crawling ladA
-
Despite the cry for this change and that changeK
HmmmmmL
When the foundation is destroyedA
What can the righteous doA
Now we're amused by the fulanization of usI
Which has been brought by RUGAM
-
Why the cry is coming now when our silenceN
Is grace by the Independence slaveryG
Equity doesn't help the indolence but the SwiftA
War here and there is said to be the eminent solutionC
How dare you note thatA
-
Trust that you've met with the victims of the Biafra warO
Your testimony would have changedA
Ibere ogun lanri kosenitoleri eyin reP
Dear great Divine kindly arise to our rescueM
For kwanshoko has overridden the bellyG
