Listen up dear folks and hear my wordsA
For I have a tale that must be heardB
It's about a crazy idea that has been stirredB
Of food serving itself oh how absurdB
-
Imagine at your front a meal so grandC
Serving itselfD
AhE
Will it be courteousF
I bet my soulG
Chaos will reign plates will sailH
Food will fly a spaghetti hailH
-
Pots and pans incessantly cluttering the racks and sinksI
In some noisy and endless debateJ
About no one to clean up for the nagging dinner to serve itself in timeK
It's a mess that stinksI
Consuming self serving food is a labor of loveL
But putting up with the sabotageM
Of hypocritical kitchenwareN
And the nagging dinner itself is like fighting a determined dragonO
-
And think of the risks at handC
Veggies might revolt and take a standC
Salads might dumpP
Dressing all over you at the command of some miniature animal proteinsQ
-
And let's not even get startedR
On the table ethics of the food serving itselfD
Excuse me Mr Chicken could you pass the saltS
Oh I'm sorry but I think there's already too much salt in meT
Otherwise did you mean to lick a packet of saltS
And a tiny piece of the chicken or are you just kiddingU
And could not it be better if you cooked a small piece of your meatV
Then put a sea of salt in itW
To see if it tastes alike on your portion man as on your tongueX
-
Won't things be crazyT
Plates and forks would go flyingU
And our dining experience become terrifyingU
-
The carrots might revolt and refuse to mashY
The broccoli may gang up and make a dashY
The gravy might pour itself and cause a splashY
And we'll all end up being stained with spaghetti sauceZ
-
So I'm afraid it's bad newsA2
For all the lazy peopleB2
Who hope their dinner would magically serve itselfD
Nope sorry folks you're going to have to get upC2
Off that couch and do some workD2
-
Though it takes some effort it's clearE2
Our table experience will be safer we won't have to fearE2
So wear your apron without a tearN
Cook up that feast make it delicious and dearE2
-
Now let's get cooking and create a feastF2
Start with some soup then move on to the roast beastF2
Mashed potatoes asparagus the list will not ceaseG2
And finally a little innovative maneuvers for the sweet releaseG2
-
And then serve your dinner without any fearE2
And enjoy your meal with loved ones nearE2
For hard work equals a happy tummyT
And that's something we can all cheerE2
