Happiness
Is it real or is it a facade?
Love
Is it genuine or is it fake?
Hope
Can we feel it or is it a made-up word?
Peace
Will we ever know what it is like?
All these questions rage on inside me like an active volcano about to explode
In the world we live in today where no one can be trusted, is it still possible to live like a god
Is it still possible to be really happy with the family you love, hoping for a greater future where peace is in abundance
Is it still possible to feel emotions
Not just any emotion
But one that subdues all other emotions
Not hate or anger or malice or jealousy
But love, peace, happiness and hope
Is it still possible?
I cannot tell
But to you my dear reader, I know that you know the answer

Poet's note: In this poem I wanted to express the deep sadness I had for the world. Everything is crumbling. As a child I grew up with the feeling that the world was my home, but with what I see everywhere, with the racism and stuff, I can't help but feel like I'm just a visitor
