Because I Cannot Sleep Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIIJIKLMNOPMD QQQRSTQHUVH

Because I cannot sleepA
I make music at nightB
I am troubled by the oneC
whose face has the color of spring flowersD
I have neither sleep nor patienceE
neither a good reputation nor disgraceF
A thousand robes of wisdom are goneG
All my good manners have moved a thousand miles awayH
The heart and the mind are left angry with each otherI
The stars and the moon are envious of each otherI
Because of this alienation the physical universeJ
is getting tighter and tighterI
The moon says 'How long will I remainK
suspended without a sun 'L
Without Love's jewel inside of meM
let the bazaar of my existence be destroyed stone by stoneN
O Love You who have been called by a thousand namesO
You who know how to pour the wineP
into the chalice of the bodyM
You who give culture to a thousand culturesD
You who are faceless but have a thousand facesQ
O Love You who shape the facesQ
of Turks Europeans and ZanzibarisQ
give me a glass from Your bottleR
or a handful of being from Your BranchS
Remove the cork once moreT
Then we'll see a thousand chiefs prostrate themselvesQ
and a circle of ecstatic troubadours will playH
Then the addict will be freed of cravingU
and will be resurrectedV
and stand in awe till Judgement DayH
