Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFGA HIGJ BKLM| I believe that there s a thief in this yard | A |
| Somebody went in my house and stole my money | B |
| I didn t catch the person red handed | C |
| So I don t know for sure who the culprit is | D |

| Everyone who lives on the premises is a suspect | E |
| But the prime suspect is a teenage boy | F |
| It doesn t appear that it was a prowler | G |
| So it must have been a tenant of the yard | A |

| The bad minded tenants are envious of my success | H |
| Furthermore they covet my possessions | I |
| The nasty Negro who stole my money won t prosper | G |
| I don t trust sneaky rats so I changed the locks | J |
| - | |
| You stole my money because you were hungry | B |
| The money that you stole from me will soon finish | K |
| And you ll soon be hungry again for sure | L |
| You won t stop stealing until you lose your life | M |
