The Silly Things We Say Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AA AA BB AA BB BB AA AA CD

I m so discontented with walking up and downA
But I d like to meet a nice girl downtownA
-
I ll say hi to the hottie in the black gownA
And I hope she doesn t take me for a clownA
-
I have to make my feelings knownB
For I want to start a family of my ownB
-
The storms of life have blown me downA
No wonder I m wearing a frownA
-
My only child is too precious to disownB
Look how beautifully she s grownB
-
She returns the favour that was shownB
I m now reaping what I ve sownB
-
The shade of my iris is light brownA
If I were a monarch I d wear a golden crownA
-
Sometimes I go sailing after sundownA
And I feel like jumping overboard and drownA
-
Don t take this poem seriouslyC
These are some of the silly things we sayD
