For Jamie
This is the last poem I’ll write for you, my beloved Jamie
I’m still grieving a lost intrigue that wasn’t meant to be
Your incredible love left an irremovable mark on my heart
Time has flown by, but I’m not too old to desire you.
Although I’ve been living without you for so many years,
The pleasant memories of you still comfort me today
I’ve never seen another woman with such perfect love
If I could return to the past, I’d get everything right
But finding a soulmate happens only once in one’s lifetime
The chance of marrying you slipped through my fingers
Although fate prevented us from being together,
The pleasant memories of you still comfort me today
