The Last Evening Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDE FGAAA GGADH IJHKL MGNGG

The last evening I spent with Heather I felt lost and uneasyA
Something was weighing on my mind but I said nothing about itB
I looked into her eyes and I did not understand what I sawC
She easily sensed my uneasiness and asked me what was wrongD
And she knew that I lied when I said Nothing I m okayE
-
She never told me that she loved me but I felt her loveF
Even though I wanted to hear those words from herG
My pride would not let me ask her about her feelings for meA
Wherever she was that was where I wanted to beA
Her comforting arms and her kisses were good enough for meA
-
We went against the traditional rules but it did not matterG
I had never found happiness with any woman except HeatherG
And neither had she ever been happy with any man except meA
So we decided what was right and what was wrongD
We made our own rules of love but destiny had a plan for usH
-
I had a strange feeling when I left her house that eveningI
But I did not know that I would never see her againJ
I thought someday we would work things out between usH
Moreover I believed that our love could stand the test of timeK
To break up with her on the phone was not what I wantedL
-
Oh how I wished she had eternal love in her heartM
The ardency of my love alone could not keep us togetherG
In the night our heaven mysteriously disappearedN
Destiny took her from me but it couldn t take away my love for herG
I loved her then I love her now and I will go on loving herG
