One-of-a-kind Romance Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDE DFGDH IJKBL

My heart is somewhere in the Palisadoes peninsulaA
How I wish I could go back to that place againB
A fascinating woman anticipates my returnC
I still think of the evening I walked away from herD
Oh how I long to embrace her in the sea breezeE
-
Alice and I were so in love with each otherD
She at no time expected me to tell her goodbyeF
I left her on the shore of the Caribbean SeaG
But my whole heart stayed behind with herD
How could I ever forget our one of a kind romanceH
-
We wished upon stars and we painted rainbowsI
There was no love like our love in the worldJ
We laughed and kissed where flowers bloomedK
I may not behold the beauty of Alice againB
But wherever she is my heart will always be thereL
