Old Songs Will Never Die Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCD AEAFG CHIJD KLMNO PQRST BURPC

Why do sweet love songs end so quicklyA
And why do the blues hurt so badlyA
I can t help reminiscing the starry night I met FayB
We were at the karaoke in New KingstonC
Soft music was playing and the guests were dancingD
-
The aura of love in the hall fascinated meA
I saw her standing alone by the windowE
She was singing softly and swaying gracefullyA
I walked up to her and said Would you like to danceF
Nothing felt quite as good as getting her consentG
-
I put my arms around her waist without hesitationC
And she invitingly hugged my neckH
We danced close together to the rhythm of the cha chaI
She wanted to dance with me all nightJ
I fell in love with her while we were dancingD
-
We kissed passionately near the poolsideK
I dried the tears from her cheeks with my handkerchiefL
And we didn t want the night to endM
Her intense love made me feel so goodN
But she left me in the rain and I felt so sadO
-
I ve been listening to the blues since I lost herP
Old songs will never die no matter how many years pastQ
They remind me of the things we used to doR
I wined and dined her and we kissed and embracedS
The memories of her haunt me in my sleepT
-
Play me a tear jerking song with lyrics that sayB
She s gone my sweet little gypsy is goneU
I wish the old songs could make my wish come trueR
Take me back in time to where I met herP
It was an exciting night with an adorable womanC
