My Earnest Prayer Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDDA EFDGHI BDGJGJ

Oh Lord hear out my earnest prayerA
Don t let me see the girl I love in my sleep againB
Don t let her sit beside me on a hassockC
Don t let me want to cuddle her tightlyD
Please don t let her turn her back to meD
Don t let her pretend not to notice I m thereA
-
Don t let strong emotions overwhelm usE
Don t let her turn around and rest her head on my chestF
Don t let her put her arms around me like a babyD
Don t let me hold her as closely as I used to hold herG
Please don t let our hearts burn with passionH
And don t let tears of love fall from our eyesI
-
Lord please don t let her lips touch mine againB
Don t let unreal things appear to meD
Don t let me have recurring dreams about herG
Make me stop hoping for her love in vainJ
Don t let the memories of yesteryear haunt me foreverG
For my heart can no longer bear the painJ
