I look at myself in the mirrorA
And I like the person that I seeB
People can say whatever they wantC
I m really happy to be meB
-
The length of my hair is my businessD
I only wear clothes that I likeE
Why should I change my appearanceF
Fault finders will never be satisfiedG
-
I can't follow the confusing rulesH
But I'm not the worst person on earthI
It's too difficult to please othersJ
So I do everything to please myselfK
-
Even if I become like someone elseL
I d still be an imperfect manM
There's no faultless human beingN
I love myself I m the man I want to beB
-
Don t tell me how to live my lifeO
I m fed up with the dictations of societyB
It s time to make my own decisionsP
From now on I ll live the life I wantC
-
I m a writer of Jamaican nationalityB
Patios is my native dialectQ
I also speak in the Queen's EnglishR
But I don t twang like a dry land touristS
-
I'm a plain and outspoken personT
I don't put up with nonsenseU
Most of the time I keep to myselfK
I get a better feeling when I m aloneV
-
Although I m a multi skilled personT
I don t have to prove myself in any fieldW
Frankly I don t impress peopleX
And nobody can easily impress meB
-
I strongly disapprove of certain formalitiesY
They aren t advantageous to meB
Formalities originate from different culturesJ
I see no moral values in these thingsZ
-
Nobody can shove philosophy down my throatA2
I don't want to hear anything from anybodyB
If I listen to every opinion I'll become a fanaticB2
Just leave me alone I'm the man I want to beB
