| I went to bed late and I overslept | C |
| I m not even sure what day it is | D |
| The calendar on the wall is showing Monday | E |
| But it feels like Saturday | E |
| I just got out of bed a few minutes ago | F |
| Yet I m so worn out | G |
| The noisy poodles on my veranda are driving me insane | H |
| Lord this backache is killing me | E |
| I can t live peacefully in this tenement house | I |
| Inconsiderate people surround me day and night | J |
| I m tired of the contention and disturbance | K |
| The boisterous tenants are always bickering | L |

| I work hard to put money in the boss pocket | M |
| Taxes deprive me of half of my little earnings | N |
| Fare and other expenses leave me penniless | O |
| The landlord is knocking on my door for the rent | P |
| But I don t have a cent to pay him | Q |
| My electricity is disconnected for non payment of bill | R |
| And there s no water in the pipe | S |
| Thank God I don t owe the store any instalment | P |
| I can t afford to cook delicious meals | T |
| Such as fish chicken pork beef turkey etc | U |
| Last night I ate dry bread and drank a cup of tea | P |
| This morning I can t even suck salt | P |
| I hate the kind of life that I'm living | L |

| The cost of living is rising | L |
| Jobless youths are all over the community | P |
| And they just loaf around all day | P |
| The hooligans smoke ganja on the street corners | V |
| I can t stomach the odour of that thing | L |
| They call me Elda when I pass | W |
| Sometimes a youngster asks me for a bills | X |
| But I have nothing to give anybody | P |
| And I don t support laziness and habitual begging | L |
| I m a talented writer with objectives | Y |
| But I see no opportunity for advancement | P |
| I don't want to resort to crime in order to eat a food | P |
| Oh I m so fed up with everything | L |
| I wish I could find a quiet home somewhere to live | Z |
