A Picture Of You Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBBCDAEF GHIJBKLMNO PQRCDKDSC

It has been a long time since we last saw each otherA
But a picture of you is still in my memoryB
My darling please continue to wait patiently for meB
I must endure one more year in captivityB
After that I shall be free to come home againC
I look forward to the day when I can be close to youD
My darling I shall listen to your laughterA
And I shall certainly dry your tears of joyE
Our love will keep us strong until that time comesF
-
It feels like hell within this lonely prison cellG
I count the days that these bars hold me against my willH
I look through the small window outsideI
In the distance I see a pretty flower dancing in the breezeJ
And it reminds me of your alluring beautyB
My darling I feel your sorrow and your lonelinessK
I imagine your frequent cries day and nightL
When you are not with the one you love so muchM
It does bring heartache and unhappinessN
And you wish you could see me standing at your doorO
-
My darling do not lose hope when the sun setsP
For it will rise again above the mountain in the morningQ
And God will soon answer your earnest prayerR
The day will come when you will be in my arms againC
And I shall have you not just the memories of youD
Time will not weaken the bond between usK
Neither will a foreign land extinguish my love for youD
The picture of you will always remain in my heartS
So darling keep praying for me until I see you againC
