A Peculiar Love Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDE DFGEHI AJKLMK NODPDN QNRFP JSATJD

We had a peculiar love for each otherA
I do not think I shall ever find this love againB
We had the closest relationshipC
You were an obedient ladyD
But I did not take advantage of your compliancyE
-
You let me do anything that pleased meD
I could play with your long hairF
And I could sleep in your bedG
You allowed me to caress your legsE
I could hug you like a childH
And I could kiss you any time I wantedI
-
We ate and drank togetherA
Yet I felt that I did not actually have youJ
I wanted you to be my wifeK
But I knew it was not going to workL
This is what I was worried aboutM
And I made the worst decision of my lifeK
-
You felt that things were okayN
And you were puzzled that I was not satisfiedO
You did not mind loving me in secrecyD
But I wanted more than thatP
I could not continue to wait indefinitelyD
So I decided to back awayN
-
My impatience led to our break upQ
You took it the wrong wayN
And when I called you hung up the phoneR
My feelings for you did not end thereF
Darling I wish you had seen thatP
-
Even though I partially had youJ
I felt much better at that time than nowS
Our love was so peculiarA
Even now I cannot understand itT
The important thing is that I still love youJ
And you have a reason to believe meD
