A Peculiar Love Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDE DFGEHI AJKLMK NODPDN QNRFP JSATJD

We had a peculiar love for each otherA
I don t think I ll ever find this love againB
We had the closest relationshipC
You were an obedient young ladyD
But I didn t take advantage of your compliancyE
-
You let me do anything that pleased meD
I could play in your long black hairF
And I could sleep in your comfortable bedG
You allowed me to caress your legsE
I could hug you like a little childH
And I could kiss you any time I wantedI
-
We often ate and drank togetherA
Yet I felt that I didn t actually have youJ
I wanted you to be my wifeK
But I knew that it wasn t going to workL
This is what I was worried aboutM
And I made the worst decision of my lifeK
-
You felt that things were going okayN
And you were puzzled that I wasn t satisfiedO
You didn t mind loving me in secrecyD
But I wanted more than thatP
I couldn t continue waiting indefinitelyD
So I finally decided to back awayN
-
My impatience led to our breakupQ
Sadly you took it the wrong wayN
When I called you you hung up the phoneR
My feelings for you didn t end thereF
Darling I wish you had seen thatP
-
Even though I partially had youJ
I felt much better at that time than I do nowS
Our love for each other was so peculiarA
Even now I can t understand itT
The important thing is that I still love youJ
And you have a reason to believe meD
