A Few Polite Words Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBCD EFGHI JCKJC LCMNL

I could ve walked past you without saying helloA
You didn t have to respond to my greetingB
Other admirers also said hello to youC
But you found my approach more pleasingB
I said a few polite words to youC
And we enjoyed the moments that followedD
-
The party was swinging and we were so excitedE
I could ve said I had to go and dampen your enthusiasmF
But we were having such a good timeG
It was a lovely evening and you knew how to danceH
We wined and dined when the moon came outI
-
If you hadn t stayed at the party a few minutes longerJ
I wouldn t have met a nice lady like youC
And you wouldn t be in my arms nowK
We have an outstanding love for each otherJ
It s a love that s too good to be trueC
-
A few polite words did wonderful things for usL
That was a long time ago now look at youC
Darling you haven t changed a bit since thenM
You re still the sweet lady I saw at the coastal resortN
I bless the night we found love and happinessL
