Submerged Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAB ACA AD EFGHI

I have known only my own shallowsA
Safe plumbed placesA
Where I was wont to preen myselfB
-
But for the abyssA
I wanted a plank beneathC
And horizonsA
-
I was afraid of the silenceA
And the slipping toe holdD
-
Oh could I now diveE
Into the unexplored deeps of meF
Delve and bring up and giveG
All that is submerged encased unfoldedH
That is yet the bestI
