Rhyme Scheme: A BCDD EFGHADADII DJKILLII MNOPQDRRRRIISTUI LDVWXYZYDA2 B2C2IB2DTI D2E2F2D2DG2CI DH2BCDDDI2IDa social commentary | A |
- | |
Where is the love | B |
For our brothers | C |
Gun down for n'o reason | D |
Killing brothers like it's deer season | D |
- | |
Why in God's name those in blue | E |
Are sworn to protect and serve | F |
Acting like thugs | G |
And that's not cool | H |
And while sworn to their duty | A |
But wearing masks like Klansman | D |
With terrorist ideas you feel me | A |
Killing us off one by one by one | D |
There's nothing more sadder | I |
Of what's going on and yes Black Lives Matter | I |
- | |
While we are being stopped for no reason | D |
Be it a tail light license plate expired | J |
Or checking IDs to see who are | K |
We get uptight like Cookie on Empire | I |
Then expressing the matter at hand | L |
Off to jail and before the judge's stand | L |
Funny how things are getting badder | I |
I still say Black Lives Matter | I |
- | |
With all this drama on the streets | M |
And blood is shed one soul at a time | N |
And with every heart beat | O |
This world is cruel to be kind | P |
As they beat us upside our heads | Q |
There's a refrain repeating again | D |
Oops upside your head | R |
Oops upside your head | R |
Oops upside your head | R |
Saying oops upside your head | R |
Fair | I |
What is fair | I |
Only in America | S |
Our bodies bruised and battered | T |
From battles fought | U |
Yes I still believe that Black Lives Matter | I |
- | |
The blue men are getting out of hand | L |
That's blue men with white skin | D |
Wearing a frown of evil on their faces | V |
And not knowing foe or friend | W |
Even if you come up to them real close | X |
It's that mask they wear to disguise | Y |
That burning of hate | Z |
That you can see in their eyes | Y |
But just enough and to close you'll burn | D |
There's evil all around them | A2 |
- | |
On the streets we raise hell | B2 |
Loud and trying to be peaceful | C2 |
While the noise is deafen everywhere | I |
The silence in the community begins to swell | B2 |
And bodies drop one by one by one | D |
Black bodies are snatched from us and shattered | T |
But I still believe Black Lives Matter | I |
- | |
Six million Jews died during the Holocaust | D2 |
While being held under Hitler's thumb | E2 |
Now more of our young black men die | F2 |
With many more souls continue to be lost | D2 |
For those crimes they say we've done | D |
While fathers lose their sons | G2 |
And sons lose their fathers | C |
Yes Black Lives Do Matter | I |
- | |
Dear Father I pray for our Black men | D |
Who died in the heat of all these things | H2 |
Where's the love | B |
For our brothers | C |
That's gunned down for no reason | D |
Killing them on by one | D |
Like it's going out of season | D |
I still believe | I2 |
Black Lives Matter | I |
Killing them one by one | D |
