Woman To Man Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCAA DEFDD GHIGG JEKJJ

The eyeless labourer in the nightA
the selfless shapeless seed I holdB
builds for its resurrection dayC
silent and swift and deep from sightA
foresees the unimagined lightA
-
This is no child with a child's faceD
this has no name to name it byE
yet you and I have known it wellF
This is our hunter and our chaseD
the third who lay in our embraceD
-
This is the strength that your arm knowsG
the arc of flesh that is my breastH
the precise crystals of our eyesI
This is the blood's wild tree that growsG
the intricate and folded roseG
-
This is the maker and the madeJ
this is the question and replyE
the blind head butting at the darkK
the blaze of light along the bladeJ
Oh hold me for I am afraidJ
