Sonnet For Christmas Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCDEDEFGGFHH

I saw our golden years on a black galeA
our time of love spilt in the furious dustB
'O we are winter caught and we must fail 'C
said the dark dream 'and time is overcast 'C
And woke into the night but you were thereD
and small as seed in the wild dark we layE
Small as seed under the gulfs of airD
is set the stubborn heart that waits for dayE
I saw our love the root that holds the vineF
in the enduring earth that can replyG
'Nothing shall die unless for me it dieG
Murder and hate and love alike are mine'F
and therefore fear no winter and no stormH
while in the knot of earth that root lies warmH
