Rhyme Scheme: ABCD BEFB GHDI BJBK LMLN BOBBB PHCQ RBHB

Home of the helplessA
Built with a corrugated ironsB
The innocent incarceratedC
For a pardonable crimeD
-
In court sittingsB
Judges bribedE
They twist and thwart the truthF
The voiceless cry for a voiceB
-
Many a soulG
Wallows in pains and miseryH
Over the crimeD
They never committedI
-
Though the prisons are in sizesB
Mansion and edifice for the opulentJ
Match house boxes for the impecuniousB
Crimes are in stratumK
-
Like Evans the anointed kidnapperL
Whose arrest and cases cried aloudM
His imprisonment a folktale dinnerL
His accuser's voice muteN
-
The poor are voiceless and helplessB
In the cacophony of their matchO
house boxesB
Their hearts in need of a voiceB
To silence their oppressorsB
-
For how long will a soul weepP
For eternityH
In prison souls convertedC
or enslave to sinQ
-
When eventually releasedR
The society feels their presenceB
Positively or negativelyH
We are the architect of our woesB

Jude Chukwuemeka Muoneke
