Many decades agoA
They came with egoA
And condemned our waysB
Planted a religion to thwart raysB
-
They arrived with briefcasesC
To uproot cursesC
But therein lies weaponsD
To put fears and lampoonsD
-
These albinos polluted our cultureE
And tagged us barbaric nurtureE
Our ancestral graves desecratedF
They built their temples called them sacredG
-
Today we are enemies of ourselvesD
Religion the madness of selvesD
Amadiaho traveled in shipH
Here we behave like sheepI
-
This scar will linger foreverE
Many eyes open but blind everE
Lets retrace our rootJ
The Cross lies the truthK

Jude Chukwuemeka Muoneke

Poet's note: African needs to go back to their root. Our culture and heritage need rehabilitation. But at the Cross lies the truth.
