Doctrines held in high esteem
Sermon twisted for cupidity
Prosperity blown like serine
Holiness frowns at them.
Ideology of man is deceptive
Hands crafted in creativity
Statues adorably created
for adoration,
Though genuflected and bowed.
Cross, crucifix and grotto venerated
Imageries of His suffering and death
are reverenced,
An honour to His mother
All are human creations.
Ministers fearfully adored
Pictures, stickers and anointed posters
are blessings personalized,
Holy book trivialized
Why idolize idols?
Denominations are human creations
Souls indoctrinated,
Truth and lies
Can never be on the same page.
Heaven isn't a respecter of persons
and denominations,
The truth is enshrined
In the Holy book.
Exodus is weeping
“You shall not make for yourself
an idol,
In the form of anything
You shall not bow down to them
or worship them…”
Idolatry
Jude Chukwuemeka Muoneke
Poet's note: This poem is dedicated to all humanity. It cautions all Christians to shun idolatry because God hates sharing his glory with man or any adorable objects. Only God deserves our total worship in truth and in spirit.
