Pour out your sorrows my heartA
But let none discover whereB
For my pride makes me forbearB
My heart's sorrows to impartA
-
I love you Verse my friend trueB
Because when in pieces tornC
My heart's too burdened you've borneC
All my sorrows upon youB
-
For me you suffer and bearB
Upon your amorous lapD
Every anguish every slapD
That my painful love leaves thereB
-
That I may love in peace with allE
And do good works as my goalF
You thrash your waves rise and fallE
With whatever weighs my soulF
-
That I may cross with fierce strideG
Pure and without hate this valeH
You drag yourself hard and paleH
The loving friend at my sideG
-
And so my life its way will wendI
To the sky serene and pureB
While you my sorrows endureB
And with divine patience tendI
-
Because I know this cruel habitJ
Of throwing myself on youB
Upsets your harmony trueB
And tries your gentle spiritJ
-
Because on your breast I've shedK
All of my sorrows and tormentsL
And have whipped your quiet currentsM
Which are here white and there redK
-
And then pale as death becomeN
At once roaring and attackingO
And then beneath the weight crackingO
Of pain it can't overcomeN
-
Should I the advice have takenP
Of a heart so misbegottenP
Would have me leave you forgottenP
Who never me has forsakenP
-
Verse there's a God they averB
To whom the dying appealedQ
Verse as one our fates our sealedQ
We are damned or saved togetherB
