To My Mother Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFEFGG

With filial duty I address thee MotherA
Thou dearest tie which this world's wealth possessesB
Endearing name no language owns anotherA
That half the tenderness and love expressesB
The very word itself breathes the affectionC
Which heaves the bosom of a luckless childD
To thank thee for that care and that protectionC
Which once where fortune frowns so sweetly smil'dD
Ah oft fond memory leaves its pillow'd anguishE
To think when in thy arms my sleep was soundF
And now my startled tear oft views thee languishE
And fain would drop its honey in the woundF
But I am doom'd the sad reverse to seeG
Where the worst pain I feel is loss of helping theeG
