To Anna Three Years Old Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFEF GHGH IDIDJD DKDL FDFD MNONMN

My Anna summer laughs in mirthA
And we will of the party beB
And leave the crickets in the hearthC
For green fields' merry minstrelsyD
-
I see thee now with little handE
Catch at each object passing byeF
The happiest thing in all the landE
Except the bee and butterflyF
-
-
-
And limpid brook that leaps alongG
Gilt with the summer's burnished gleamH
Will stop thy little tale or songG
To gaze upon its crimping streamH
-
Thou'lt leave my hand with eager speedI
The new discovered things to seeD
The old pond with its water weedI
And danger daring willow treeD
Who leans an ancient invalidJ
Oer spots where deepest waters beD
-
In sudden shout and wild surpriseD
I hear thy simple wondermentK
As new things meet thy childish eyesD
And wake some innocent intentL
-
As bird or bee or butterflyF
Bounds through the crowd of merry leavesD
And starts the rapture of thine eyeF
To run for what it neer achievesD
-
But thou art on the bed of painM
So tells each poor forsaken toyN
Ah could I see that happy hourO
When these shall be thy heart's employN
And see thee toddle oer the plainM
And stoop for flowers and shout for joyN
