To An Hour-glass Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDCCEFEG

Old fashioned uncouth measurer of the dayA
I love to watch thy filtering burthen passB
Though some there are that live would bid thee stayA
But these view reasons through a different glassB
From him Time's meter who addresses theeC
The world has joys which they may deem as suchD
The world has wealth to season vanityC
And wealth is theirs to make their vainness muchD
But small to do with joys and Fortune's feeC
Hath he Time's chronicler who welcomes theeC
So jog thou on through hours of doom'd distressE
So haste thou on the glimpse of hopes to comeF
As every sand grain counts a trouble lessE
As every drain'd glass leaves me nearer homeG
