The Yellowhammer Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABBCBCDDEFGE

When shall I see the white thorn leaves agenA
And yellowhammers gathering the dry bentsB
By the dyke side on stilly moor or fenA
Feathered with love and nature's good intentsB
Rude is the tent this architect inventsB
Rural the place with cart ruts by dyke sideC
Dead grass horse hair and downy headed bentsB
Tied to dead thistles she doth well provideC
Close to a hill of ants where cowslips bloomD
And shed oer meadows far their sweet perfumeD
In early spring when winds blow chilly coldE
The yellowhammer trailing grass will comeF
To fix a place and choose an early homeG
With yellow breast and head of solid goldE
