The Vixen Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDBBEEBB

Among the taller wood with ivy hungA
The old fox plays and dances round her youngA
She snuffs and barks if any passes byB
And swings her tail and turns prepared to flyB
The horseman hurries by she bolts to seeC
And turns agen from danger never freeC
If any stands she runs among the polesD
And barks and snaps and drive them in the holesD
The shepherd sees them and the boy goes byB
And gets a stick and progs the hole to tryB
They get all still and lie in safety sureE
And out again when everything's secureE
And start and snap at blackbirds bouncing byB
To fight and catch the great white butterflyB
