The Tomb Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBACADCECFFGG

Once musing o'er an old effaced stoneA
Longing to know whose dust it did concealB
I anxious ponder'd o'er what might revealB
And sought the seeming date with weeds o'ergrownA
But that prov'd fruitless both the date and nameC
Had been for ages in oblivion thrownA
The dim remains of sculptur'd ornamentD
Gave proof sufficient 'twas reward for fameC
This did my searching view so much tormentE
That Time I question'd to expose the sameC
But soon a check And what is it to theeF
Whose dust lies here since thou wilt quickly beF
Forgot like him then Time shall bid thee goG
To heaven's pure bliss or hell's tormenting woeG
