The Swallow Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCC DDEE FFAB CCGG HHFF IIHH

Pretty swallow once againA
Come and pass me in the rainB
Pretty swallow why so shyC
Pass again my window byC
-
The horsepond where he dips his wingsD
The wet day prints it full of ringsD
The raindrops on his trackE
Lodge like pearls upon his backE
-
Then again he dips his wingF
In the wrinkles of the springF
Then oer the rushes flies againA
And pearls roll off his back like rainB
-
Pretty little swallow flyC
Village doors and windows byC
Whisking oer the garden palesG
Where the blackbird finds the snailsG
-
Whewing by the ladslove treeH
For something only seen by theeH
Pearls that on the red rose hingF
Fall off shaken by thy wingF
-
On that low thatched cottage stopI
In the sooty chimney popI
Where thy wife and familyH
Every evening wait for theeH
