The Lost One Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EDEDFGFG HIJIEKEK

I seek her in the shady groveA
And by the silent streamB
I seek her where my fancies roveA
In many a happy dreamB
I seek her where I find her notC
In Spring and Summer weatherD
My thoughts paint many a happy spotC
But we ne'er meet togetherD
-
The trees and bushes speak my choiceE
And in the Summer showerD
I often hear her pleasant voiceE
In many a silent hourD
I see her in the Summer brookF
In blossoms sweet and fairG
In every pleasant place I lookF
My fancy paints her thereG
-
The wind blows through the forest treesH
And cheers the pleasant dayI
There her sweet voice is sure to beJ
To lull my cares awayI
The very hedges find a voiceE
So does the gurgling rillK
But still the object of my choiceE
Is lost and absent stillK
