Sunday Dip Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEEFGHH

The morning road is thronged with merry boysA
Who seek the water for their Sunday joysA
They run to seek the shallow pit and wadeB
And dance about the water in the shadeB
The boldest ventures first and dashes inC
And others go and follow to the chinC
And duck about and try to lose their fearsD
And laugh to hear the thunder in their earsD
They bundle up the rushes for a boatE
And try across the deepest place to floatE
Beneath the willow trees they ride and stoopF
The awkward load will scarcely bear them upG
Without their aid the others float awayH
And play about the water half the dayH
