Song. "dropt Here And There Upon The Flower" Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCBDB EBEBFBFB GHGHEBEB IJIJBBBB

Dropt here and there upon the flowerA
I love the dew to seeB
For then returns the even's hourA
That is so dear to meB
When silence reigns upon the plainC
And night hides all or nearlyB
For then I meet the smiles againD
Of her I love so dearlyB
-
O how I love yon dusky plainsE
Though others there may beB
As much belov'd by other swainsE
But none so dear to meB
Their thorn buds smell as sweet the whileF
Their brooks may run as clearlyB
But what are they without the smileF
Of her I love so dearlyB
-
In yonder bower the maid I've metG
Whom still I love to meetH
The dew drops fall the sun has setG
O evening thou art sweetH
Hope's eye fain breaks the misty gloomsE
The time's expir'd or nearlyB
Ah faithful still and here she comesE
Who could but love thee dearlyB
-
Though till we meet 'neath fate's controlI
Who knows the luck that shall comeJ
And then thou idol of my soulI
We'll meet with happier welcomeJ
I wish I had for sake of theeB
A lord's estate or nearlyB
They soon should see who'd ladies beB
And whom I love so dearlyB
