Peace Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: AAAAAAAAAAABAB| I seek for Peace I care not where 'tis found | A |
| On this rude scene in briars and brambles drest | A |
| If peace dwells here 'tis consecrated ground | A |
| And owns the power to give my bosom rest | A |
| To soothe the rankling of each bitter wound | A |
| Gall'd by rude Envy's adder biting jest | A |
| And worldly strife ah I am looking round | A |
| For Peace's hermitage can it be found | A |
| Surely that breeze that o'er the blue wave curl'd | A |
| Did whisper soft Thy wanderings here are blest | A |
| How different from the language of the world | A |
| Nor jeers nor taunts in this still spot are given | B |
| Its calm's a balsam to a soul distrest | A |
| And where Peace smiles a wilderness is heaven | B |
