Noon Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEDEFGFGAAThe mid day hour of twelve the clock counts o'er | A |
A sultry stillness lulls the air asleep | B |
The very buzz of flies is heard no more | C |
Nor faintest wrinkles o'er the waters creep | B |
Like one large sheet of glass the waters shine | D |
Reflecting on their face the burnt sunbeam | E |
The very fish their sporting play decline | D |
Seeking the willow shadows 'side the stream | E |
And where the hawthorn branches o'er the pool | F |
The little bird forsaking song and nest | G |
Flutters on dripping twigs his limbs to cool | F |
And splashes in the stream his burning breast | G |
O free from thunder for a sudden shower | A |
To cherish nature in this noon day hour | A |
