Noon Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEDEFGFGAA

The mid day hour of twelve the clock counts o'erA
A sultry stillness lulls the air asleepB
The very buzz of flies is heard no moreC
Nor faintest wrinkles o'er the waters creepB
Like one large sheet of glass the waters shineD
Reflecting on their face the burnt sunbeamE
The very fish their sporting play declineD
Seeking the willow shadows 'side the streamE
And where the hawthorn branches o'er the poolF
The little bird forsaking song and nestG
Flutters on dripping twigs his limbs to coolF
And splashes in the stream his burning breastG
O free from thunder for a sudden showerA
To cherish nature in this noon day hourA
