Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEEEF GGGDHHHD IIIDJJKD

Young Jenny wakens at the dawnA
Fresh as carnations newly blownB
And o'er the pasture every mornC
Goes milking o' the kyeD
She sings her songs of happy gleeE
While round her swirls the humble beeE
The butterfly from tree to treeE
Goes gaily flirting byF
-
Young Jenny was a bonny thingG
As ever wakened in the SpringG
And blythe she to herself could singG
At milking o' the kyeD
She loved to hear the old crows croakH
Upon the ash tree and the oakH
And noisy pies that almost spokeH
At milking o' the kyeD
-
She crop't the wild thyme every nightI
Scenting so sweet the dewy lightI
And hid it in her breast so whiteI
At milking o' the kyeD
I met and clasped her in my armsJ
The finest flower on twenty farmsJ
Her snow white breast my fancy warmsK
At milking o' the kyeD
