Love's Emblem Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAC DEDE FGFG DHDH FIFI JFJF KLKL

Go rose my Chloe's bosom graceA
How happy should I proveB
Could I supply that envied placeA
With never fading loveC
-
Accept dear maid now Summer glowsD
This pure unsullied gemE
Love's emblem in a full blown roseD
Just broken from the stemE
-
Accept it as a favourite flowerF
For thy soft breast to wearG
'Twill blossom there its transient hourF
A favourite of the fairG
-
Upon thy cheek its blossom glowsD
As from a mirror clearH
Making thyself a living roseD
In blossom all the yearH
-
It is a sweet and favourite flowerF
To grace a maiden's browI
Emblem of love without its powerF
A sweeter rose art thouI
-
The rose like hues of insect wingJ
May perish in an hourF
'T is but at best a fading thingJ
But thou'rt a living flowerF
-
The roses steeped in morning dewsK
Would every eye enthrallL
But woman she alone subduesK
Her beauty conquers allL
