Langley Bush. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFEFGDGDHEHE

O Langley Bush the shepherd's sacred shadeA
Thy hollow trunk oft gain'd a look from meB
Full many a journey o'er the heath I've madeA
For such like curious things I love to seeB
What truth the story of the swain allowsC
That tells of honours which thy young days knewD
Of Langley Court being kept beneath thy boughsC
I cannot tell thus much I know is trueD
That thou art reverenc'd even the rude clanE
Of lawless gipsies driven from stage to stageF
Pilfering the hedges of the husbandmanE
Spare thee as sacred in thy withering ageF
Both swains and gipsies seem to love thy nameG
Thy spot's a favourite with the sooty crewD
And soon thou must depend on gipsy fameG
Thy mouldering trunk is nearly rotten throughD
My last doubts murmur on the zephyr's swellH
My last look lingers on thy boughs with painE
To thy declining age I bid farewelH
Like old companions ne'er to meet againE
